REVIEW: IT COSMETICS GEL EYELINER & HIGHLIGHTER STICK
Hello lovely people! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. On my last haul post I mentioned I would do a review on some of the products I bought. The lovely ymorbeauty asked me to review the highlighter especially, so here are my thoughts.
It is easy to apply with an angled liner brush. Incidentally, I have the liner brush, also from It Cosmetics, that I love.
It is very dark and pigmented. If you love really black eyeliner, you will like this one. It actually looks like a liquid liner.
The formula is creamy and glides on fairly smoothly.
Washes off easily.
It is not as long wearing as it claims to be. After about 6 hours it started to smudge. Granted 6 hours is still pretty good, but I am looking for something with a little more staying power.
I mentioned it glides on smooth and it does, but that is only if you have a steady hand and can line your eye in one fell swoop. It dries very quickly, so if you want to smudge it at all or fix a mistake, be prepared for a flaky mess. I do not like that I cannot smudge it a little.
I am concerned about the fact that it dries so quickly once applied, will mean that the formula will dry out quickly in the pot.
I am sorry to say, but I think this eyeliner is a miss for me. I will continue my search!
Easy to apply.
Creamy formula. You can just apply it from the stick or rub it with your finger for more precise application.
Lovely color, pretty universal shade. A champagne pink.
Definitely a multi-purpose product. You can use it most anywhere on your face.
Nice packaging. The swivel stick makes it easy to dispense and the stick seems to be firmly in place, so no breaking off.
The color isn’t very long-lasting. I noticed it faded after only a few hours. I am not someone who likes to carry all of my makeup with me.
This is just a personal preference, but I am not really liking the way the cream formula looks over my blush. I have to smear and blend it and since I use a powder blush, it doesn’t look particularly great afterwards. I also just dust a light powder foundation on. I like this highlighter, but I really think it is better suited for someone who uses a cream blush and liquid foundation. That is of course assuming you are using it for your cheeks, which was my intended purpose. It is great to highlight simple features.
Unfortunately, this one is going to be a miss for me too.
