I love a good face mask, and there are a few I keep as staples in my beauty regimen. Like most of us, I am always looking for the next best thing in skincare and beauty products. Here are a few new and noteworthy to try.
This buttery cream relies on shea butter, and other intensely hydrating emollients to repair and protect skin while you sleep. It is not described as a mask per se, but one of the trends I am noticing a lot lately in skincare are sleeping facials. This cream is basically the same thing, hence why it made it into this post! Like most other products from First Aid Beauty, it also contains colloidal oatmeal, which is very soothing. So if you have very dry, sensitive skin, this might be a great one for you. I would use this as a night cream myself.
This is an algae packed detoxifying mask, that is supposed to exfoliate and leave your skin brighter and more hydrated after use. One thing about this mask that impressed me was the amount of algae in this product, and the fact that those ingredients were not at the bottom of the list. That reassures me if I decide to purchase, since there is nothing I hate more than buying something expensive only to find out that the ingredients are sub-par.
This product is unique in its formulation. I gather that it is a powder formula? It comes with a brush to apply the product. This product contains a lot of very potent vitamin C. Vitamin C if you didn’t know already can work wonders for your skin by brightening, encouraging collagen production, and lightening discoloration, creating a more even skin tone. It is recommended that this product be used after a laser treatment, but that shouldn’t be a factor for using this. You will benefit from this product without having a laser treatment. Just be sure that if you are sensitive to vitamin C that you test it out on a little patch of your face to ensure there is no reaction, as first time users of topical vitamin C may experience some stinging.
I love Peter Thomas Roth products! They have some amazing masks, and this one should be just as amazing! First thing to love about this mask right off the bat is that you get a ton of product for the money. The tubs that his masks come in last me a good long while. Second it is oil and fragrance free! This is a decongesting powerhouse of a mask, thanks to the activated charcoal and volcanic ash. Your skin will also be treated to some very beneficial anti-oxidants via the star ingredient, Irish Moor Mud, which by the way is also one of the first listed ingredients!
Okay, this one brings out my inner skeptic. In all of my research, I have not found definitive proof that the presence of gold in skincare is a phenomenal anti-aging miracle. So I take any products containing gold with a grain of salt. Sort of like when everyone found out Goldschläger liqueur wasn’t necessarily safe for human consumption, due to the fact that the human body was not designed to digest precious metals. All of that being said, this mask did get some very good reviews, so if you can get your hands on a sample, it is definitely worth trying.
This is another mask that contains very potent vitamin C, with the added bonus of detoxifying clays and moisturizing fruit extracts. Interestingly, this mask contains coconut oil, and that is a good thing! Anything coconut oil is generally a good thing. Based on the ingredients, I feel this one probably would not dry out your skin. So if you are sensitive to the drying effects that clay based masks can sometimes cause, this might be a good choice.
This one is definitely one I am going to purchase. This is another hydrating sleeping mask. I think this one would be a good one to use on my upcoming trip to Jamaica, during the long and stressful plane ride. This mask is oil and added fragrance free, so those of you with acne prone or sensitive skin will appreciate this one.
